Q:  What is it like to hold church services in a YMCA?

A:  The YMCA has been a wonderful place for church services.  The East Belleville Y is a first-class facility with nice nursery and youth facilities, and open public spaces that are just perfect for Sunday school classes.  As Baptists, we really love the really big baptistery (their pool)!

Q:  Where do I go when I arrive?

A:  Light refreshments and coffee are available in the lobby until 10:30 a.m. Sunday school is called to order around 9:45 a.m.  We have use a well-equipped nursery staffed by our church ladies, as well as separate classes for elementary boys and girls.  If you prefer to keep your kids with you, this is not a problem.  If you arrive after Sunday school has started, head to the pool watch area to the left of the information desk, where our pastor's class meets.  You are also welcome to wait for the end of Sunday School in the lounge area to the right of the desk.

Q:  How does Sunday school work?
We call class to order around 9:45 a.m.  Grade K-6 Girls' classes are held in the Tween Center (behind the nursery/child watch); grade K-6 boys' classes are held at the tables in the lobby to the right of the main entrance.  The New Life Bible Class, our pastor's class, meets in the pool watch area.  Students in grades 7-12 are welcome to join either the pastor's class or the elementary class.  Class is dismissed around 10:15 a.m.

Q:  What is a church service like?

A:  Services are held in the Workout Room behind the running track, beginning around 10:40a.m.  Our style of worship is simple, respectful of what we are doing, and informal.  Services begin with hymn singing, followed by the sermon, and announcements.  A song concludes the service.  We dismiss around 11:25 a.m.

Q:  What happens when the service is over?
Following the dismissal, our members put away equipment and put the room back in order.  If you have not already, please take a moment and fill out our guest book located on the table by the door.  Don't forget to pick up any children from the Nursery and Tween Center. And, thank you again for coming.  We look forward to serving you.
