FAQs

Q:  What is it like to hold church services in a YMCA?

A:  The YMCA has been a wonderful place for church services.  The East Belleville Y is a first-class facility with nice nursery and youth facilities, and open public spaces that are just perfect for Sunday school classes.  As Baptists, we really love the really big baptistery (their pool)!

Q:  Where do I go when I arrive?

A:  Light refreshments and coffee are available in the lobby until around 10:25 a.m.  We then split up for Sunday school classes.  If you arrive after 10:30 a.m., or do not see anyone around, head for the Workout Room.  This is located past the weight

room and running track.  An employee of the YMCA is always on-site and can direct you there.

Q:  How does Sunday school work?
A:
We fellowship together informally beginning around 10:00 a.m. until around 10:25 a.m.  Our children and youth Sunday school class is held in the Tween Center.  The New Life Bible Class, our pastor's class, meets in the Workout Room, our auditorium.  Students in grades 7-12 are welcome to attend either the pastor's class or the elementary class.  Class is dismissed around 10:40 a.m.

Q:  What is a church service like?

A:  Services are held in the Workout Room behind the running track, beginning around 10:45 a.m.  Our style of worship is traditional, simple, respectful of what we are doing, and informal.  Services begin with hymn singing, followed by the sermon, an invitation to make decisions for the Lord, and announcements. We dismiss around 11:30 a.m.

Q:  What happens when the service is over?
A:
Following the dismissal, our members put away equipment and put the room back in order.  If you have not already, please take a moment and fill out our guest book located on the table by the door. Also, thank you again for visiting with us.  We look forward to serving you.
